This awesome set is based around the titular Strixhaven school which features five magical colleges. The five colleges each have their own unique take on magic and focus on two colours! Each college is has also received an awesome commander deck as part of Commander 2021! Each of the deck features a primary commander alongside a secondary commander for a variable strategy! All of the decks feature some awesome reprints, as well as 17 new cards! The five Strixhaven commander decks are:
- Silverquill Statement Silverquills wield the magic of words, from inspiring battle poetry to biting arcane insults. They focus on white and black. The commander is Breena, the Demagogue, and the deck is based around politics and aggro!
- Prismari Performance Express yourself with the Elements Prismari are the theatre kids of Strixhaven, and magic is how they express themselves. They focus on blue and red. The primary commander is the powerful Zaffai, Thunder Conductor and like many cards in Strixhaven. focuses on an instants and sorceries theme!
- Witherbloom Witchcraft Get your Hands Dirty Witherbloom draw power from the essence of living beings, whether that means enhancing nature or exploiting it. They focus on green and black. The deck includes Willowdusk, Essence Seer as the commander and heavily relies on lifegain mechanics!
- Lorehold Legacies Leave no Stone Unturned Loreholds are diligent researchers and daring adventurers. Passionate scholars obsessed with history, they explore the past by pouring over archaeological artifacts and summoning long-dead spirits. They focus on red and white. Osgir, the Reconstructor is the promo card and commander. The deck is themed around artifacts and graveyard recursion.
- Quandrix Quandrix Math is Magic Quandrix mages are ingenious math magicians. They study patterns, fractals, and symmetries to command power over the fundamental forces of nature. They focus on green and blue. Adrix and Nev, Twincasters, is featured as the commander and the deck deals with a token and +1/+1 counters strategy.
Each Strixhaven commander deck contains the following:
- 1 Premium Foil Commander Card
- 1 pre-constructed commander deck containing 99 cards
- 1 display commander card
- A set of 10 double-sided tokens
- 1 Deck Box
- 1 Life Wheel
