Following on with the storyline of Magic, this set revolves around the planeswalker Kaya, she visits a world of prophecy and legend, mortals and monsters. This set has very heavy Viking themes within it which have got many players super exciting to rebuild their decks! We can't wait to see how this set is going to influence standard decks!

One of the main things that has fans so hyped for this set is the abilities within Kaldheim, first of all, a returning ability is "Changeling". This is a characteristic defining ability that allows creature cards to be every other creature type! This is perfect for shapeshifter decks and is clear to see why it is so powerful.
Kaldheim isn't just bringing old abilities back though, within Kaldheim there are 2 new abilities. The first of these is called "foretell" this allows you to exile cards from your hand face down and cast them on a later turn using it's "foretell" cost. Next up we have the mechanic "boast" this adds a drawback to an activated ability, a player can only activate the boast ability after the creature with the ability attacks and at most once each turn.
Let's have a look and see what's in store for the 2 Commander decks being released for Kaldheim. The first is an Elven Empire deck, utilising the colours black/green, allowing players to create countless Elf tokens and then being able to tap them to deal damage/gain life is an absolutely insane ability. However, rivalling the fearsome elves is Phantom Premonition, this deck will work hand in hand with the "foretell" ability. Allowing players to "foretell" for even less cost and creating spirit tokens for every card you exile.
