What to expect in the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor!

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a huge hit back in 2019, we travelled along with Cal Kestis as he became the target of the Galactic Empire. We relived the treacherous Order 66, met a Jedi turned to the Dark Side and even the BBEG Darth Vader showed up! Cal's journey continues this April with Jedi: Survivor...but why should you pre-order? Here's 5 reasons!

1. A little help from your friends!
We loved travelling with BD-1, Cere, Greez and Nightsister Merrin but you would often find yourself venturing alone through the planets you explored. Beyond a little assistance from BD-1 now and then, you would have to traverse down long corridors and fight enemies solo. But with Jedi: Survivor, we are welcoming a new companion to the mix! Say hello to Bode Akuna, seen in the trailer assisting Cal during a cutscene or performing a finisher on a Scout Trooper. This is part of a new system called "Character-in-Gameplay" from Respawn, defining characters that help along the way in actual gameplay rather than just furthering the story through cutscenes. Either way, we're happy to be travelling alongside another character this time around!

2. Deadly Weapons!
We already know exactly how dangerous lightsabers can be, having the potential to kill quickly, cut through metal doors and protect the wielder from blaster bolts! But in Jedi: Fallen Order, we didn't really cut through our enemies, and kinda just hit them with our giant glowstick. But Jedi: Survivor has brought back that truly deadly feel to these iconic weapons, even going as far to cutting off limbs! The ruthlessness of the lightsaber is truly shown in gameplay trailers released so far, and we are beyond excited to see what kind of combos we get to perform this time around!

3. Explore to your heart's content!
The previous game was incredibly linear, with paths you followed going straight from A to B with the exception of some minor excursions along the way. But Jedi: Survivor looks to be so much more open, and gives the same sense of exploration that you get with the Tomb Raider reboot. There are new map features, such as automatic markers, waypoints and newly introduced fast travel! With these developments to the gameplay system and a significantly more open world to explore, we cannot wait to get our boots on the ground!

4. Jedi Chambers!
A new addition to the game is Cal's ability to locate and explore Jedi Chambers across the Galaxy, which will test his skills and knowledge of the force with puzzles and challenges in exchange for rewards! These are reminiscent of shrines in Breath of the Wild, and one of the best things about this is how Cal will utilise the different force abilities throughout the game. We know that we're getting upgraded Force abilities beyond the basic moves, including an improved time-slow ability and Jedi mind tricks!

5. Even more enemies!
You aren't a Jedi if you don't have the full force of the Empire breathing down your neck, and that doesn't ease up in Jedi: Survivor! You can expect to see the good ol' Sith Inquisitors and Stormtroopers chasing you down - but expect to also see the likes of Battle Droids, Marauders, Rancors and DT Sentry Droids! Not only that, but we are also expecting even more boss fights! We know of Rayvis the Gen'Dai, who leads the Bedlam Raiders, and his opposition to Cal. Though we are unsure of the reasons behind this, we are expecting him to be a worthy battle!
