With the Xbox Showcase in our rear-view mirror, there's an array of games we are beyond excited for. One in particular stood out, Skyrim in space! Well, it's actually called Starfield, but this next entry by Bethesda is looking to be a strong contender to tide us over until The Elder Scrolls VI comes out. But why should you pre-order Starfield? We're about to break it down into 5 reasons!
1. Tell YOUR story!
Following the path paved by other Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout 4, you will be able to customise your own character to the fullest extent. You are the protagonist. Whether you painstakingly craft each individual muscle on your character's face, or hit the randomise button and see your abominations during cutscenes, you will be able to choose your own destiny in Starfield. You can pick from an array of Backgrounds and Traits to get you started, and journey into the depths of the unknown!
2. Explore the Universe! (literally)
Bethesda have said there's going to be over 1000 planets to explore, which is such an incredible number. It's not quite the 18 quintillion planets that were boasted by No Man's Sky, but nobody has 585 billion years to explore them all. Starfield's universe is filled with bustling cities, dangerous bases, wild landscapes and a massive cast of characters you can pick up on the way! We're hoping to see truly unique landscapes on each planet we visit, but only time will tell.
3. Piracy, in space!
We've all gathered by this point that Starfield is a FPS. With every FPS come the expected selection of weapons, but do you know what makes this game even better? The space battles. Starfield is giving us a flash back to the days of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, where you can board people's spacecrafts, fight the crew and claim everything as your own! Let's face it, who doesn't want to play the bad guy every now and then? Not only that, but you can customise your weapons and spaceship to your heart's content! Bethesda have stated that we will have hundreds of different upgrades and aesthetics to appeal to each and every player, and if I am not taking down someone's spacecraft with my own vibrant pink robot shaped ship, I don't want to know!
4. Base building is back, baby!
Preston Garvey may be long gone by the time Starfield takes place, but another settlement will need your help! Gather resources, craft machines and build epic bases with this classic feature that runs deep throughout Bethesda games. You can kick your feet up after a long day of space exploration, or suss out your next adventure with computers that will analyse planetary data. Sound familiar? If you've ever played the likes of No Man's Sky, you'll recognise this gameplay style. But why not just buy No Man's Sky? We think our next point will truly sway your decision...

Could it be? Have we really travelled through the vastness of space and somehow bumped into him? It really is a small world...The Adoring Fan is back, and has had quite the makeover! The in-game trait "Hero Worshipped" will attract his attention, and he will give you gifts! Pretty neat, yeah? Oh, you don't think so? Well don't worry, you can remove traits if you find him too intense - or just abandon him on a planet, never to return...your choice!
