If you're a fan of pixel platformers, and you own a Nintendo Switch or PS4, then you should consider picking up Enter/Exit the Gungeon! Previously only a digital edition, the publishers over at Developer Digital are releasing a physical bundle of this fun-filled shooter! But why should you pick up this bullet hell rogue-like game? We're about to break it down into 5 reasons!

1. If you love arcade shooters, then you'll love this!
This game is all about bullets, guns and shooting. The environment, the weapons, the characters - they're all related to guns. No, really. Enter/Exit the Gungeon is filled with enemies that have unique movesets, memorable bosses that give you an epic challenge, and over 243 different guns to pew, zap and blast your way through levels with!

2. Two Games in one!
Enter/Exit the Gungeon is essentially two games neatly wrapped into one disc or cartridge. That means you'll get these two critically acclaimed games, including all of their updates, right from the start! You can pick up this game from us for £27.95 on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4!

3. Combo, combo, combo!
This game uses the combo system to it's highest potential. The more shots that hit your enemies, the more your combo metre will increase. Simple, right? Well, to add onto this feature, you'll get points added onto the end of your run but you can also grab some awesome loot from NPCs dotted throughout the game as a reward for this feat! Not only that, but you can use one of your limited blanks to clear all bullets on the screen if you find you're struggling, at the partial cost of your combo metre. Think Atomic Bomb in Call of Duty, it's there to give you a breather in the midst of a tough fight. To top it off, the higher your score the higher the likelihood of Jammed enemies and bosses will appear!

4. The Guns...The Guns!
We've already meantioned the guns in a previous point, but we need to delve further in. As pointed out, there are over 200 guns in this game, that's an arsenal! But some of the guns available are unique in their own special way, and we're going to break down our favourites.

  • The Scrambler: You like chickens, right? Well this gun blasts out eggs that hatch into 5 homing bullets, allowing you to maintain a safe distance from enemies that are getting just a little too close for comfort. With a slew of hilarious synergies such as Bacon and Eggs or Two Eggs Over Easy, this gun is a winner in our eyes!
  • Elimentaler: Along the line of punny guns, the Elimentaler is a cheese-themed semi-automatic. You have three types of projectiles that have different probabilities of being fired; cheese balls, cheese wheels and pointy cheese. This gun encases enemies in cheese and essentially freezing them, but enemies that die while "encheesed" will spawn a large cheese pool, furthering the freezing effect onto any enemies that step into this zone. Pretty cheese-tastic!
  • Big Shooty Gun: Self explanatory. It's big, it's shooty and it's a gun. This gun slowly charges up to fire a large high-damage projectile. It's large and it's in charge.
  • Fightsabre: "Use the force, Luke..." Wait...wrong franchise. But in reality, this Star Wars themed gun is pretty awesome. It's made entirely of hardened light and can be used as a melee weapon whilst reloading, reflecting nearby bullets that deal 10 damage each on a hit. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your enemies will have Stormtrooper aim, as this gun can't deflect enemy lasers.
  • Gunther: Say hello to Gunther! This gun grows more powerful with each room that is cleared. He has three stages (you heard me, he!) of behaviour, with each stage he deals more damage and his ammunition gains special qualities. He's a pretty cool guy...I mean gun!

5. A Rich sense of humour!
This game just does not take itself seriously. With a big sense of humour in every aspect, akin to that of Borderlands, you will crack a smile more than once with each level that you progress through! From punny bosses to pop-culture guns, everything about this game is as charming as we'd hoped it would be. Enter/Exit the Gunegon has a stunning artstyle, with unique core gameplay and an abundance of fun to be had!

Hopefully this short guide gives you a good insight into what to expect with Enter/Exit the Gungeon! If you're interested in pre-ordering, be sure to click the button below and buy for your respective platform! If not, be sure to check out our full gaming offering on our site!
