Solve the Mystery in Mysterium!

Tabletop Games November 29, 2020 - 06:00 PM 0 Comments Matt Farmer

The air is heavy with suspense and mystery is this nerve-wracking game from Libellud! Most players in Mysterium take on the roles of mediums as they attempt to unravel a mystery. Another player takes on the role of the ghost who can only communicate through the use of vague, dramatic and beautifully illustrated clues. The game is cooperative and the aim is to solve the mystery before the time runs out!

Like all good thematic board games, Mysterium has you invested in the story of the game from the very beginning. The game's mechanics encourage thoughtful and careful play, making the later stages of the game very atmospheric. Mysterium uses timers throughout which amps up the tension even more. It's not all doom and gloom though, as the rules also allow you to place bets on the other player's guesses. This gives you a chance to recoup on your losses if you make an incorrect guess.

Mysterium is an excellent game for any group looking to play something different. The game is designed for 2 - 7 players and takes around 45 minutes to play, so is perfect for games night. If you already have a copy of Mysterium, then why not check out Mysterium Park. In Mysterium Park, the game is given a fresh coat of paint and the focus is switched from a haunted mansion to a delightfully creepy amusement park!
