Rise to prominence in The Castles of Burgundy!

Tabletop Games July 22, 2021 - 07:00 AM 0 Comments Matt Farmer

This game is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travellers. The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom which is represented by the player board. Every tile has a function that starts when the tile is placed in the princedom. The princedom itself consists of several regions, each of which demands its own type of settlement tile. The game supports 2 to 4 players and takes 30 to 90 minutes to play.

Each copy of the game includes the following:

  • 164 six-sided tiles
  • 42 goods tiles (square, 7 in each of 6 colours)s
  • 20 "Silverlings" (eight-sided)s
  • 30 worker tiles (square)s
  • 12 bonus tiles (square, 1 small and 1 large in each of 6 colours)s
  • 4 victory pieces (with 100 or 200 points in each of the 4 colours)s
