Description

It's time to kick-start Season 2 of the Magic the Gathering League!

Season 2 for Commander League is here! It will play like any other regular Commander game, pods of 3 or 4, and last player standing wins! Earn points like normal depending on when you finish, and earn more for achieving our randomly selected, special 'Quests' in each game.

Once the pods are confirmed, and players have began their games, the GC team will randomly pick 3 Quests from our extensive list for all pods to attempt. This allows for an even playing field of chance. You could get lucky and the Quests be in your favour, earning you a few extra points to your total (although, you still have to win to be in with a better chance overall!)

Each round will also be determined by how well you play, with seeded pods for Round 3.

  • 1st place - 4pts
  • 2nd place - 3pts
  • 3rd place - 2pts
  • 4th place - 1pt

In the case of draws, points will be awarded on how many people are still remaining in the game and the points awarded to the next available position, except certain circumstances.

If one player has been knocked out of the game and 3 remain, that player will receive 1 point and the remaining 3 will receive 2 as points for the draw. If 2 people have been knocked out of a game involving 4 people, the first knocked out will receive 1 point, second knocked out will receive 2 and the last 2 players will receive 3 points each. If all players in the game draw (such as the game time running out), they will all receive 2 points each instead of 1. If there is only 3 people in a pod, the points system would work as if there had been a 4th player who had already lost. 3rd place would receive 2 points, 2nd 3 points and 1st 4 points. In a draw where the 3rd person is knocked out, they would receive 2 points and the remaining 2 players would receive 3 points. Alt win conditions that result in one player winning and all other players losing simultaneously, will result in the winner receiving 4 points and all other players earning 2 points each.

Rulings:

104.2a A player still in the game wins the game if that player’s opponents have all left the game. This happens immediately and overrides all effects that would preclude that player from winning the game.

104.4a If all the players remaining in a game lose simultaneously, the game is a draw.
